Warwick

We departed Crediton in the morning and Alex bid a fond farewell to Rosie. The Great Park Farm B&B is Alex’s favorite stop on our trips.

Here is a view from the yard of the B&B, Devon is a beautiful country with abundant rolling hills and lush green colors. Palm trees by the coast as well.

We traveled to Warwick and arrived early afternoon. We visited St. Mary’s Collegiate Church and it was beautiful. Smaller than many of the other churches we visited, it nonetheless has an impressive building that dates back more than 800 years.

We spent nearly an hour walking around the church grounds and the interior. A laminated information sheet was provided so you could take a self guided tour.

St. Mary’s shows that a building doesn’t need to be overwhelming to be inspirational and/or impressive. The boys enjoyed it as well plus they had an informative DVD presentation to supplement the self guided tour.

While we avoided activities that we could do at home I did surprise the boys with a visit to a Warwick movie theater to watch “The Dark Knight Rises,” which they both wanted to see. They thought we were visiting another museum so it was fun to watch their faces when we arrived at the theater. The boys have been terrific this trip and earned a treat to the movies.
